Regarding the participation of Shiv Sena J&K unit in the upcoming Assembly elections, Party Chief Uddhav Thackeray has ordered to field only such candidates who have resolved to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
This was informed by Manish Sahni, Party’s J&K President Manish Sahni after meeting with Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai.
“In the meeting, several issues related to Jammu and Kashmir like restoration of peace in J&K especially in Kashmir, return of Kashmiri Pandits, resentment among youth due to rising unemployment and neglect of Jammu division,” Sahni said, adding that guidance was also taken on dozens of public issues.
Sahni said that Uddhav Thackeray has given instructions to field only those candidates who have the spirit of public service. The Party Chief also released a resolution based on the aspirations of the Jammu and Kashmir unit.
Sahni said that the Party has decided to contest the upcoming Assembly elections with manifesto based on people’s aspirations for which the party has already initiated campaign in the state. He said that it is an irony that despite becoming a Union Territory, discrimination against Jammu division has not ended and claims of restoration of peace in Kashmir are also proving to be hollow. Moreover, unemployment and inflation is at its peak, daily wage earners are on the streets, crime and corruption are prevailing and the bureaucracy is displaying intolerable arbitrariness. Efforts are continue to tarnish the identity of Maharaja Gulab Singh's Dogra princely state under well knit conspiracies.
Sahni said that after meeting Uddhav Saheb, special enthusiasm and energy has been infused in him and he will move forward the same with full force with an aim to ensure fulfillment of the issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that discrimination with Jammu division and unrest in Kashmir will not be tolerated any more.
During the meeting, National Organizers Ashok Tiwari, Vinod Kumar and Meenakshi Chhibber, Raj Singh and Sukhwinder Kaur were also present.
